MAO-A is a well-known neurotransmitter gene that is responsible for both the degradation of serotonin and dopamine [2] and while the MAO-A promoter variable number of tandem repeats polymorphism was previously implicated in TS by Díaz-Anzaldúa et al. [4], MAO-A SNPs were not implicated in our study. The gene discussed is MAOA; the disease is Timothy syndrome.
