AKT1 and infection: Notably, E. chaffeensis TRPs interact with numerous host proteins associated with cellular signaling pathways, including 17 proteins with TRP120, 10 proteins with TRP47, and six proteins with TRP32, suggesting that infection and replication of E. chaffeensis involves TRP exploitation of conserved cell signaling pathways, such as Wnt, Notch, mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinases (MAPK/ERK), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt/mechanistic target of rapamycin (PI3K/Akt/mTOR), nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB), and cytokine/chemokine-mediated signaling (Table 4).
