During STII therapy, there were no severe hypoglycaemic episodes defined as an event requiring the assistance of another person to actively administer carbohydrate, glucagon, or other resuscitative treatments, and minor hypoglycaemic episodes defined as having classical symptoms of hypoglycaemia or blood glucose level below 3.1 mmol/L and prompt recovery after the patient self-administered carbohydrate was similar between the two groups (14/66 in STII+ exenatide group v.s. 12/63 in STII only group, p > 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene GCG and Hypoglycemia.
