Negative symptoms can be alleviated by typical or first-generation antipsychotics (Miyamoto et al., 2002, Miyamoto et al., 2005, Miyamoto et al., 2012), which is consistent with our findings that thalamo-LA and emotional memory deficits in 22q11DS mice were rescued by Drd2 antagonists or thalamic Drd2 small interfering RNAs. This evidence concerns the gene DRD2 and 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.
