These observations are similar to the results of Kim et al. who found that a certain phenoxyphenol analog, N1-hydroxy-N8-(4-phenoxyphenol)octanedianide (MHY218) significantly induced apoptosis and G2/M arrest through downregulation of NF-κB of human colon cancer HCT116 cells and gastric cancer AGS cells [18,34], reflecting a peculiarity of phenoxyphenol derivatives in anti-cancer treatment. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is cancer.
