Sung et al. identified integrated HBV DNA in 86.4% of liver cancers, by whole-genome deep sequencing, and found that genes recurrently affected by HBV integration were TERT (23.7%), myeloid/lymphoid or mixed-lineage leukemia 4 (MLL4) gene (11.8%) and cyclin E1 encoding gene (CCNE1) (5.2%) [57]. This evidence concerns the gene CCNE1 and liver cancer.
