It is known that SOX30 transcriptionally activates p53 in lung cancer,23 which would conceivably result in upregulation of 21, and may also have a role in upregulation of p27, leading to cell cycle arrest.36 However, whether this is responsible for the inhibitory effect on CRC cell proliferation when miR-645 is inhibited remains to be studied.
