FLT3 and acute myeloid leukemia: In a data set composed of 82 AML samples (including 26 MLL-rearranged AMLs)43, those bearing K-RAS mutations (n = 5) are associated with a lower ALOX5 level (Supplementary Fig. 2a), indicating a potential positive feedback between K-RAS signaling and ALOX5. Noticeably, the only AML sample with mutated K-RAS that has relatively higher ALOX5 level also bears FLT3 mutation.
