BRD2 and premature menopause: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is also referred to as premature ovarian failure (POF) or premature menopause and is characterized by the triad constituting of amenorrhea for at least 4 months, sex steroid deficiency, and monitoring the serum concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) > 40 IU/L, two times at least 1 month apart in women < 40-year-old [1–3].
