Previous studies revealed that mutant/silencing of certain MYB genes (AtMYB108, TaPIMP1, TaMYB4, TaLHY, and TaRIM1) impaired resistance or enhanced susceptibility to different diseases, while overexpression of the MYB genes, such as TaPIMP1 and TaRIM1, improved significantly resistance of transgenic plants to infection of pathogens7, 18–20, 24. This evidence concerns the gene MYB and infection.
