TP53 and glioblastoma: Whereas, the p53 product TIGAR, often overexpressed in glioblastomas, protects against glycolytic adaptation by reducing the expression and activity of Phosphofructokinase-1 and fructose biphosphatase in multiple cancer types, including GBM (Bensaad et al., 2006; Wanka et al., 2012b).
