As mentioned above, mTOR signalling is required for the formation of tau hyperphosphorylation in several cellular and animal models such as human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells and mouse neuroblastoma 2a (N2a) cells, primary cortical neurons, metabolically active brain slices, triple-transgenic model of AD (3xTg-AD) mice and tau P301S transgenic mice [22–27, 61, 62]. The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is neuroblastoma.
