IL6 and acute myeloid leukemia: The lack of a stimulatory effect when adding IL-6 but a pronounced inhibition of degradation by the addition of an IL-6 neutralizing antibody to AML cells with elevated LDL degradation could possibly be explained by a scenario where an autocrine loop with IL-6 can be blocked but the addition of extra IL-6 will not further stimulate an active stimulatory loop.
