In polarized epithelial cells, AJAP1 localizes and interacts with β-catenin in the E-cadherin-catenin complex and is found in cell-cell contacts in the human mammary gland, the uterus, breast carcinoma cells (Gross et al., 2009; Jakob et al., 2006) and in glioblastoma cell lines (Han et al., 2014). The gene discussed is AJAP1; the disease is glioblastoma.
