While we cannot exclude the possibility that different miRNAs (including miR-219-5p and miR-1271-5p) play a role in HCC-associated GPC3 overexpression, our data suggest that miR-4510 is of particular importance in this cancer as it strongly and inversely correlated with GPC3 mRNA and protein levels in HCC tumors (Figure 5A-5B). This evidence concerns the gene GPC3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
