SLC2A1 and neuroblastoma: Taken together, these results provide compelling evidence that TAS2Rs have the potential to inhibit angiogenesis, glucose metabolism, and NB cell metastasis via down-regulation of HIF-1α and its downstream targets, VEGF and GLUT1. However, due to the lack of evidence regarding the effect of TAS2Rs on tumor invasion and metastasis, further studies are needed to confirm these roles both in vivo and in vitro for different cancers.
