We generated T cell-specific IL-6Rα knockout mice (IL-6RαT-KO) and subjected them to diet-induced obesity via exposure to a high-fat diet (HFD, 60% Kcal fat) for 8 and 16 weeks, at which points their metabolic phenotype was characterized and the concurrent inflammatory state of liver and epididymal white adipose tissue (EWAT) was assessed. This evidence concerns the gene IL6R and obesity disorder.
