It has been shown that in approximately 70% of ovarian cancers there is an overexpression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptors (EGFRs) which belongs to receptor kinase family and consist of 4 members, namely: HER1 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 1; EGFR), HER2/neu, HER3 and HER4 [4]. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and ovarian carcinoma.
