The increased expression of pro-inflammatory interleukins and chemokines (e.g. interleukins, IL-8; IL-7; IL-1β; and C-X-C motif chemokine 10, CXCL10) parallels the transcriptional response of adult frog skin to the chytrid fungus Batrachochytridium dendrobatidis (BD) infection and entry (Ellison et al., 2014).
