Miyabe and colleagues reported that the expression of LPAR1 is increased in fibroblast-like synoviocytes from patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and LPA induces the production of inflammatory cytokines by synoviocytes, suggesting that these cells are activated during rheumatoid arthritis via LPA-LPAR1 signaling [20, 21]. The gene discussed is LPAR1; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
