CX3CR1 and dry age related macular degeneration: Some epidemiological surveys and laboratory studies have shown that apolipoprotein E (Souied et al., 1998; Levy et al., 2015), superoxide dismutase (Kimura et al., 2000), complement factor H (Edwards et al., 2005; Haines et al., 2005), and CX3C chemokine receptor 1 (CX3CR1) (Tuo et al., 2004; Combadière et al., 2007) are key factors in the development of dry AMD.
