BLCAP and cervical carcinoma: As ADAR1 was reported to function as an oncogene and ADAR2 function as a tumor-suppressive gene, we hypothesize that ADAR1 rather than ADAR2 dominate the conversion of BLCAP from a wild-type tumor-suppressor gene to an edited-type loss-of-function gene and finally promote the occurrence and development of cervical cancer.
