Increased expression of SCD-1, and to a lesser extent SCD-5, has been associated with many types of cancer, including breast cancers, with a poor prognosis of survival [29,30] Along this path, Huang et al. demonstrated the pivotal role of SCD-1 in promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in lung adenocarcinoma, and its significant association with poor clinical outcome [31]. The gene discussed is SCD5; the disease is cancer.
