PEAR1 and cardiovascular disorder: Relevant for our current report, two studies [4, 15] demonstrated that platelet aggregation in response to aspirin [15] or agonists [4], including adenosine diphosphate, epinephrine and collagen, is related to intronic variation at rs12566888, but proposed that additional studies would be needed to clarify the importance of genetic variation in PEAR1 to cardiovascular disease progression and response to antiplatelet therapy.
