NLRP3 and demyelinating disease: Because the levels of IL-6 and T cells in the CNS are known to play important roles in the pathogenesis of TMEV-induced demyelinating disease [26, 27, 54–56], the signals downstream of the NLRP3 inflammasome are likely to be involved in the pathogenesis of TMEV-induced, immune-mediated demyelinating disease.
