CD160 and neoplasm: The involvement of BTLA in the maintenance of self-tolerance, the role of CD160 as coinhibitory receptor on TEX cells, and their reciprocal expression in naïve versus activated T cells strongly suggest that together CD160 and BTLA must play an important role in the fine tuning of metabolic programs that determine T cell fate and function upon encounter of self-antigens, pathogens, or tumor antigens.
