MYC and neoplasm: Accordingly, our data prove that the blockade of palmitoylation significantly induces the nuclear localization of SCP1, indicating that SCP1 can shuttle between the plasma membrane and nucleus, which is consistent with previous reports that SCP1 can dephosphorylate nuclear oncoproteins such as Snail, c-Myc, and Smad (Knockaert et al., 2006; Wu et al., 2009; Wang et al., 2016), suggesting that such a novel phenotype of SCP1 shuttling observed in our study may be closely correlated with oncogenesis and tumor progression.
