Do et al. (2008) studied the correlation between HuR protein, a protein intended to stabilize the mRNAs, and Cyclooxygenase-2, an enzyme involved in the spread of tumors, in Ewing’s tumor; the author, who supposed that HuR can stabilize the mRNA of COX-2, does not observe a simultaneous increase of the expression of HuR protein and Cyclooxygenase-2 in cancer cells; also Do et al. (2008) believe that that relationship is indirectly evaluated by observing the mRNA stabilization. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and cancer.
