Arimoclomol, a small molecule that acts as a co-inducer of the heat shock response by prolonging HSF1 activation and upregulating a number of proteins such as HSP60, HSP70, HSP90, and GRP94, has shown to be effective in several experimental models of motor neuron degeneration including the SOD1G93A mouse (Kalmar et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene HSP90AA1 and Motor neuron atrophy.
