It was necessary to find and validate biomarkers for AD prevention, especially for LOAD, which has a strong genetic component [4], and several genes have been identified in the genome-wide association studies [5, 6], including the neuronal sortilin-related receptor (SORL1) [7] and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPAR G) gene [8]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and Alzheimer disease.
