Our preliminary studies showed that miR-200c/141 cluster overexpression in a triple-negative (TN) human BCC line, MDA-MB-231, which lacks estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal receptor 2 (HER2) expression, enhances the migration and invasion abilities [12], upregulates SerpinB2 and promotes lymph node (LN) and lung metastasis in mouse models. The gene discussed is ESR1; the disease is skin basal cell carcinoma.
