Only six of these genetic variants have known or suggested functional associations[35, 36] such as LDL metabolism [rs11206510 (PCSK9)], plaque destabilization [rs4773144 (COL4A1_A2)], vasoconstriction and inflammation [rs1878406 (EDNRA)], lipid metabolism [rs2954029 (TRIB1)], angiogenesis and inflammation [rs9319428 (FLT1)], and hypertension [rs12190287 (TCF21)], and they offer little information on how or why these SNPs modify the effects of stress. This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and hypertensive disorder.
