Pirc rats harboring adenomas/tumors had a significant increase in glycolytic markers in their noninvolved colorectal mucosa compared to Pirc rats without adenomas/tumors, including HIF1α (1.45 fold, p = 0.018), GLUT1 (1.35 fold, p = 0.003), PKM2 (1.33 fold, p = 0.05) and LDHA (1.4 fold, p = 0.003) (Figure 3A). The gene discussed is PKM; the disease is adenoma.
