After 22 wks on the WD, the NASH phenotype is characterized by significantly increased plasma triglycerides (pTAG), total and free cholesterol (pTChol, pFChol) and the induction of transcripts encoding multiple collagen subtypes (Col1A1, Col1A2, Col3A1), cytokines and chemokines (IL1rn, Ccl3, Ccl12) (Fig 7A).
