In recent studies, researchers reported that SSZ, an inhibitor of SLC7A11, could induce cysteine/cysteine starvation, leading to GSH depletion, which may be useful for therapy against many cancers such as lymphoma [33], prostate cancer [41], breast cancer [42], glioma [43], small cell lung cancer [44] and pancreatic cancer [45].
