Considering the conflicting reports on CXCL12 expression in human colorectal cancers as well as the incertitude that surrounds the mechanisms of dysregulation either DNA hypermethylation or/and histone deacetylation [10, 15], we analyzed CXCL12 in a large collection of human adenomas and carcinomas and the gene promoter methylation status from a whole-genome DNA methylation study. The gene discussed is CXCL12; the disease is carcinoma.
