FAM83B was shown to trigger cell growths by activating EGFR/RAS/MAPK signaling in human mammary epithelial (HME1) cells [38, 39] and FAM83D enhanced cell proliferation in MCF10A breast cells [38, 40], while FAM176A induced growth arrest in H1299 non-small cell lung cancer cells [41] and FAM43B suppressed cell proliferation in HCC cell lines [42].
