We present data showing that pediatric AML patients carrying MLL translocations have a significantly upregulation of ZNF521 expression independently of the fusion partner involved in the translocation with MLL. The overexpression of ZNF521 is a robust transcriptional feature of MLL-rearranged AML, consistent across independent adult and pediatric microarray datasets [19–21]. Here, ZNF521 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
