Approximately 7000 new cases of ovarian cancer are diagnosed in the United Kingdom every year [1], [2], [3], [4], of which 13% to 16% are caused by a germline mutation in either the BRCA1 or the BRCA2 (collectively termed “BRCA”) gene [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. Here, BRCA2 is linked to ovarian cancer.
