BRD4 and nut midline carcinoma: NUT midline carcinoma is characterized by the pathognomonic chromosomal rearrangement between the NUT gene with either bromodomain–containing protein 4 (BRD4) or, less frequently, with BRD3 (on chromosome 9), leading to the fusion genes BRD4–NUT or BRD3–NUT, respectively [1–3].
