NR5A2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma: It regulates not only the intestinal stem cell proliferation and contributes thereby to the intestinal epithelial barrier integrity, but also induces the expression of steroidogenic enzymes and associated synthesis of immunoregulatory glucocorticoids.17 While analyzing the role of LRH-1 in pancreatic cancer Benod et al. coincidentally detected LRH-1 expression in infiltrating immune cells,34 but first direct evidence of LRH-1 expression in hematopoietic cells was provided by Lefèvre and colleagues describing a role for LRH-1 in IL-13-induced macrophage polarization.35
