JNK is phosphorylated during TGF-β1-induced hepatic fibrosis and EMT [35], and JNK activity is required for disassembly of adherent junctions and induction of cell motility, and blockade of JNK inhibited key morphological features of EMT [36,37]; hence the inhibition of JNK phosphorylation is a potential target for suppressing liver fibrosis. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is Hepatic fibrosis.
