While inhibition of fibroblast infection by pretreatment of virions with soluble PDGFR-alpha-Fc can be explained by interference with the binding of gH/gL/gO on virions to PDGFR-alpha on the cell surface, it appears surprising at a first glance that infection of endothelial cells was also inhibited by almost 90%. This evidence concerns the gene PDGFRA and infection.
