XRCC3 and cancer: In a meta-analysis of 17 studies including 656 patients and 2193 controls, a significant association was demonstrated between a wild type variant of XRCC3 (c.722C > T, p.Thr241Met, rs861539) polymorphism and early reaction after radiations (OR =1.99, 95%CI: 1.31–3.01, P = 0.001) among patients undergoing therapy due to various cancers.
