GLYATL1 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Researchers have reported several histone modifications that are associated with HCC and alter normal cellular processes; for example, Magerl et al. found negligible expression of dimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4diMe) in HCC [116] whereas, according to Shon et al., Patt1 (a GNAT family acetyltransferase) is downregulated in HCC and it is overexpressed in healthy liver [117].
