A genome-wide methylation study including 69% HBV-associated HCC patients demonstrated that PAX4, WFDC6, SCGB1D1, ATK3, and CCL20 were top five hypomethylated genes, whereas CDKN2A, SPDY1, ZFP41, BMP4, and DAB2IP were found to be top five hypermethylated genes [30]. Here, CDKN2A is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
