Snail, nuclear factor-kappaB (NFκB) and lysine (K)-specific demethylase 1A (LSD1) have been shown to repress FBP1 expression by inducing FBP1 promoter methylation.4, 29, 30 Apart from promoter methylation and copy-number loss responsible for the decreased FBP1 mRNA expression,3 we provide experimental evidence demonstrating that the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM28 has a critical role in regulating FBP1 protein levels through a post-translational mechanism in HCC cells.
