CD14 and cardiac transplant: Although the absolute numbers of monocytes were similar, the percentages of classical CD14++CD16− monocytes [NR: 92% ± 7.5, R: 90% ± 4.5 (median ± IQR)] were significantly higher (p < 0.05, p < 0.001), and the percentages of intermediate CD14++CD16+ [NR:4% ± 1.5, R:4% ± 3.5 (median ± IQR)] and non-classical CD14+CD16++ monocytes [NR:3% ± 3.5, R:3% ± 3.5 (median ± IQR)] were significantly lower in heart transplant recipients than healthy controls [83% ± 5.25, 5.5% ± 3.5, 9% ± 4.75 (median ± IQR)] (p < 0.001) (Figures 1B–D).
