Xie et al. have found that ASPP2 can attenuate triglyceride to protect against hepatocyte injury by reducing autophagy in cell or mouse model with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (Xie et al., 2015), and ASPP2 can enhance the apoptosis of oxaliplatin (L-OHP)-induced colorectal cancer cells in a p53-independent manner by inhibiting autophagy (Shi et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and colorectal cancer.
