CAV1 and prostate cancer: Expression of Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) was reported by Schwab et al. (42) in epithelial and mesenchymal cells of tooth germ in various stages of development, particularly in the inner enamel epithelium and ameloblastic cells in developing tooth germ (42), and it has also been established that Cav-1 participates in oncogenic transformation and differentiation in oral squamous cell carcinoma and prostate cancer (43,44).
