KRT19 and odontogenic neoplasm: Although several CKs are expressed in the epithelial cells of the tooth germ (6), CK 14 is the one that seems to be present constantly in all stages of tooth development and in most neoplastic epithelial cells in odontogenic tumors (7-9), in contrast to CK 19, which increases its expression once the inner epithelial cells become potential ameloblasts (8).
