In line with previous studies demonstrating axonal damage in cortical MS lesions, the density of damaged APP+ axons was significantly increased in perivascular cortical demyelination of Th/+ mice compared to corresponding cortical regions in C57BL/6J mice (Fig. 3f, j, n), while the density of neurons in the demyelinated cortex was not reduced (Fig. 3g, k, o). Here, APP is linked to myeloid sarcoma.
